Restoration Hardware
Elegant, rich, solid brass antique restoration hardware for desks and cabinets. Restoration pulls and furniture pulls in Eastlake, Victorian, Hepplewhite, and Sheraton Designs. D. Lawless was in the antique reproduction business for a good 20 years so these pieces of restoration hardware should look authentic although they aren't. We used them ourselves on all sorts and sizes of reproductions throughout the years. Please Note: The pulls in this section are exact reproductions of old pieces. They are not consumer products for the average homeowner. When stated, they are solid brass. Many are raw polished brass with no finish (usually applied to prevent fingerprints or tarnishing) so that they can be intentionally and easily aged. The color is difficult to photograph, but they are all the color of solid brass as stated. Cast brass is heavy solid lost wax castings. Stamped brass is formed from light gauge brass sheets just like the originals 100 years ago. Pulls for curved surfaces. The selection of pulls that will work on a curved surface is pretty small. Most of the solid brass antique restoration hardware section pulls will be able to take a certain amount of bending to fit a contour. Do not heat them, as it will make them brittle and they will crack. But, warming them in the Sun to about body temperature will make them more malleable. When bending, be sure to spread the pressure out over the surface to avoid kinking .We cannot suggest any die-cast zinc pulls that will withstand bending.
